The IBF world title bout beetween No1 ranked contender Herman "The Black Panther" Ngoudjo and Juan Urango will take place on January 30th in Montreal in a venue still to be set.

What are your toughts on this fight. I think Ngoudjo wins a UD with his quickness and much better technique.

Im liking Ngoudjo in this one to. He is busy and technically a ton better. He is better then Ben Rabah, who gave Urango a schooling for the best past of their fight (even though he ran late) but still somehow got jobbed.

I used to laugh when they claimed Urango was the next mini tyson. His head movement is non existent and he is quite susceptible to a counter.

What makes this interesting though is that
    A. Urango's main strength is his power (plus a good beard)
    B. Ngoudjo's main weakness is his chin (see Augustus and Bailey)
    C. Ngoudjo runs a bit hot and cold. Not just over his career but over a fight and sometimes over a round.

When he is good, he is real good, world class. When he is bad, he is still a good fighter but looks like a vulnerable one.

If he is smart, he shouldnt be troubled by Urango.

i'm not betting on this one. I backed Ngoudjo to beat Malignaggi by UD at 12/1 and thought he almost did, but Urango is a different type of fighter. Ngoudjo is not hard to hit with his 1-2-3 combination over and over and over again. Urango has sick power.

    Still, Ngoudjo by ud.

Every time Ngoudjo has fought in the US he has been a victim of corruption. Maybe in Montreal he can finally get a fair unbiased fight. And if you doubt the honestly of montreal fights, go watch Sebastien Demers vs Miranda. You'll see that foreign fighters get a fair shake when they come here.

Nice fight between two fighters at the same level.Ngoudjo is the safe pick but he's going to have his hands full. Urango is a live underdog. The winner of this becomes one of the top 3-4 guys at 140.

Herman will block and counterpunch all night. He's good at both, so he should be ok. Urango has power, but poor skills. Ngoudjo UD.

It's a shame threads like these get no love on this forum as this is going to be an exciting fight. I think it shows that most people on this site only give a **** about the biggest of fights (i.e. bandwagon fans).

Urango hasn't fought in 9 months and I have no idea why that is. Ngoudjo fought twice in '08 and could be in better shape possibly? The fact that this fight is in Herman's backyard helps him considerably in terms of getting a decision. I think Juan gets the KO though.

Urango all the way!!! Although i am being a bit biased. Herman is definitely more technical than Juan but Urango has the power. In a spanish interview he definitely seems VERY hungry to get his title back and get the big names in the division.

I'm excited as well, pretty good matchup. At this point I'm taking Urango by stoppage, I think neither the Castillo he fought back then or Malignaggi was able to make Ngoudjo respect their power, and both were able to land. Urango brings genuine one-punch KO power to the ring, so he might be able to break through the defense and take over the fight. But it's hard to predict. Ngoudjo might deal easily with Urango's offense. We'll see. Urango by stoppage at the moment.

Ngoudjo for now. Let's see if he can outclass Urango he's not the sharpest boxer out there.
