i'm sitting on the fence, slightly favoring ngoudjo because of his style. but i'll be rooting for urango to knock him the **** out. anyway this is a great fight.
Herman should get a clear UD against a slower, yet more powerfull Urango. Ngoudjo really deserve a title after what he's been trough before. Even if many of you think that Montreal has a bias reputation after Bute vs Andrade, it will be his first shot at a major belt fighting at home. So, I expect a good clean fight, and at the end, I wish Herman beat Urango without any doubts. Something like 118-112. Go Herman Go !
I can't call it yet. I'll wait until fight night when Teddy Atlas makes his prediction to determine my pick.
Hard to pick, for the same reasons WhatARock outlined. I like Herman by decision, but seeing how he was robbed against Paulie AND JLC, I'm not sure.... Urango has the power to trouble him, but hasn't implemented it against any World-class opponents thus far from what I can see, and from what I have seen og Ngoudjo, he IS world class. I haven't picked on the poll, for the reasons just stated.
I might have the last word after the weigh-in, but I can see the venue being an advantage for Ngoudjo, so if it goes to distance, it's safe to say Ngoudjo.
I think Urango will catch Ngoudjo and KO him. Urango has that 1 punch KO power and is slowly improving his fundamentals.
Urango on points in a dirty but good to watch fight . I rate Urango after his performance against Hatton. Very hard hitter, bit one dimensional but Herman doesn't have the power to trouble him back. He will have to use all his experience to get through 12 rounds.
Ngodjo by wide, wide UD. Won't even be close. He's too smart to get involved in a brawl, and he should be able to avoid Urango's slow, looping punches well enough to avoid getting KOed.
could care less about this fight, only seen both mean fight once (maybe twice) and neither impressed me
WOOPS. This just in, Howard Grant lost his appeal so he won't be in N'Goudjo's corner for the fight. This will impact the fight. Source: RDS.ca
Ngoudjo may not have pop (although Malignaggi was in real trouble once in their fight, and Malignaggi took Cotto's big shots) to make Urango go backward but he's fast enough to get out of trouble. And Herman's defense is very tight. He blocks almost everything thrown at him. Those qualities mixed together makes me think it will be a very long night for Urango. If Herman loses this one, hell have to ask himself if he has what it takes mentally to be a boxer.
