I know I'm critical of Floyd, but I do like that he made the Canelo fight and didn't listen to the bull**** that Canelo is to big. Floyd is so much better then Canelo, the 15-20lbs of extra weight ain't gonna do **** for Canelo. The catch weight doesn't bother me, just like it didn't bother me with the Cotto/Pac, Margarito/Pac, and Ward/Dawson fight. Always been my opinion that if a fighter only has to lose a couple pounds it should just mean he will be in better shape. Canelo looked like he took Trout lightly and came into the fight heavier then usual. This should at least assure that he is in good shape.

I think this will bring out the best in Mayweather, which is always good to see. Usually when a fighter has physical advantages over Floyd, that's when you see him really opening up. Victor Ortiz was bullying him, and we saw shades of vintage Floyd with the combos he was throwing. I expect no less in this fight. Canelo is young, and very untested but he at least brings a physical advantage and style that will make this interesting. I just hope it doesn't hurt his career to much when he loses. He is still young and can still continue to fight, but we all know how a loss seems to effect a good majority of fighters these days.

All and all, I give Floyd props. I do think Canelo is young and unproven, but he is a much better opponent then Guerrero. I still blame Mayweather for some fights not happening in the past, but it's good to see he is willing to take on Canelo when he has guaranteed money and could probably fight whoever he wanted. Props.

-ps- Styles makes fights. Would still love to see Pac vs Floyd.

Yeah, it's nice to see. Doesn't erase any of his previous ducks but nice to see him taking what is apparently the most exciting match up available outside of Pacquiao, however not-so-dangerous it might actually be for him.

^^I disagree with you on the idea that the weight won't make a deal. It's going to be close to a 20 lb discrepancy on fight night, that's literally like fighting a man 2 weight divisions above you. That being said, I can't see Canelo being able to hit him with too many clean shots, and in the latter rounds I fully expect FLoyd to turn things up while Canelo starts gassing out.

A fight like this makes me think FLoyd is setting himself up (that is, if he beat Canelo,) to fight Sergio Martinez up at MIddleweight. Sergio on the night of the fight isn't any bigger than Canelo after he hydrates up, and since Sergio has looked pretty sluggish the last couple years in his fights (since the PW KO,) I think this is the best chance for FLoyd to go up and try to obtain the MW champ from the ring mag champ himself.

I would agree the weight would be an issue if Canelo was the caliber of Martinez or Ward. Canelo is not anywhere near those 2 skill wise and Mayweather is on a much higher level then Canelo. The only thing that extra weight will do is make Floyd open up more, which is what I have missed from him. He showed it in the Ortiz fight.

Don't have an issue with this catchweight at all. Just like I didn't have an issue with the Pac-Cotto catchweight. Same thing, really. I did hate the Margarito-Pac catchweight though.

It was bs that the 154lb championship was on the line, but I don't think it was a big deal. Cotto asked for a catch weight with Margarito in the rematch also, which I found odd. Margarito didn't look drained to me like he did in the Mosley fight.

That whole fight was BS. And at 150? For a belt? Against a guy who hadn't won a fight in two years? Smh. Pacquiao should've been crucified for that.

I know you wish I was Popkins, and I'm sorry that I'm not. Hate to say, that Floyds stupid ass fans are the reason people are critical of him. Most of ya'll were the ones crying that Canelo was to big for Floyd. Of course, ya'll will be happy now but thank god Floyd didn't listen to the bs ya'll were spitting.

Money Mayweather is going to stop Canelo Alvarez on the 14th of September. I did wonder whether Canelo's team and Golden Boy would take the bait and they have fallen for it hook line and sink. The smarter move would have been to wait until late 2014 better still 2015 to fight Mayweather but they have fallen into the trap. Floyd Mayweather Senior wants Canelo now not later.

Mayweather will not stop Canelo. The man hasn't had a legit knockout since Hatton. He will put on a clinic though.

I think anyone who knows anything about boxing wanted to see Pac vs Floyd because of the styles. If you can't see how that would make an interesting fight then that's fine. Canelo has size that makes it interesting. Pac brought much more, but we never got to see the fight.

This is why I hate *****s so much. Not only do they have a hard time seeing the truth in anything, they whine about how Cotto was drained but you hear nothing about the Canelo catch weight. Neither one bothers me, but they call Pac the catch weight king, while Mayweather gets a free ride. *****s.....

When did I say he needs to fight Pac next? I said I would still like to see the fight just because of the styles. Man, *****s are as sensitive as Floyd. I said I like that Floyd is fighting Canelo and that he will put on a clinic and you start whining about Pac. Feel like I'm watching a Mayweather rant. Move along *****
