Nick Blackwell collapsed in the ring yesterday after being stopped for a haematoma above his left eye in his bout against Eubank Jr, and got transported to a nearby hospital.

After a scan revealed a small brainbleed the physicians decided to keep him in a medical coma and are deciding whether or not to operate.

Hopefully Nick can fully recover from this. The best to him and his family.

I just started a thread, wondering how hes doing. Thanks.

These medically induced comas don't seem to have happy endings, as was seen with Mago and Colon.

Hopefully this one isn't as serious

Peter Fury put a tweet up saying he's spoken to Hennesy and that things sound good for Nick.fingers crossed.

As awful as it does sound, the medically induced coma will give his body the best chance of recovering. Reasonably good news has come from Peter Furys tweet and it isn't thought that he will need surgery. Get well soon Nick, true warrior.

It begs the question though, should the fight have been stopped earlier than it was?

Could have been stopped in the 8th no doubt.

I remember ppl saying in the rbr thread that they were glad there was no British stoppage during one of Jr's 'ineffective' flurries.

Just goes to show, it's always better to stop a fight early than late.
