Round 2 he hurt arias with some big loopy right hands. Other than that he was moving too much, switch hitting with a Flicky weak right jab. But when he stopped circling the ring he throw some decent combos. Arias is tough though and wasn't offering much at all behind his high guard.
Hughie still needs work but he showed some good stuff as he moved well when holding his feet more and switched hit quite a bit.Rocked Arias in the 2nd which is impressive because that's a durable guy but may have punched himself out.Downside-ran a bit, should hold his feet more.
When you watch a ch5 show...it reminds you how far boxing has progressed on sky in recent years. You've got a British title fight here with a couple of hundred people (at best) in attendance.
The David Barnes fight is actually a barnburner... never thought I'd say that after watching him fight Gavin!
Barnes wins a close 95-94 decision, a point taken away from Colquhoun proves fatal! Rematch would be nice.
Jones done well in the first 4 but just a few signs in the 5th Blackwell is starting to turn up the heat. Jones has never been past 6 I believe so it will be interesting to see how he copes if it goes late.
Smart fight from Blackwell, targeting the body and also I think he knew Jones couldn't really hurt him especially as he tired.
