It's hard not to be a fan of Blackwell. Seems to get no favours and to be willing to have a go at anyone. Eubank jnr refused an eliminator with him didn't he?
Blackwell comes across as a throw back fighter, learned his trade on the job by taking risks early and has seems to have learned from the losses against quality opposition. Murray was already commonwealth and WBA Inter continental champion, fighting for the British and in his next fight was very unlucky not to win a world title when Blackwell stepped up in only his 9th fight. BJS an experienced international amateur/olympian and British/Commonwealth champ was given a stiff test by Blackwell Next up was European champ Bursak, showing that he had learned a great deal from the previous 2 defeats Blackwell took control and even dropped Bursak many myself included felt Blackwell was hard done by not to get the nod! Its not an easy business at the best of times let alone with no promotional backing, no t.v. deals or big backing but Blackwell and his team have persisted and it appears to be about to pay off after signing a deal with Henessey Sports / C5 I think its all about to come together. Blackwell beats Kohmitsky for me and I will watch with interest as he takes on the winner of BJS/Eubank Jr as if he continues to grow in experience and learn his trade at the current rate I would fancy him to beat any of the domestic middleweights and move on !
