From all accounts a great man, and a great broadcaster as well. Cancer is some serious ****, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. May he rest in peace. No more suffering.
Rest In Peace! The story about the videos he made for his daughter is really heartbreaking. It's not to find it sad: http://edition.cnn.com/2011/US/04/02/nick.charles.facing.death/index.html
that vid of him and tyson touched my heart....nicks literally in his last days of life, and he's comforting mike as if mike was the one with an illness.......truly a great person, RIP NICK....
My dad died from bladder cancer also. Nick Charles ,on TV exuded class. He will be missed. R.I.P. Nick....
Wow, ****ing gutted... It's really been a rough past couple years in our sport, losing as many as we have... I'm honored I got to see him work his craft, and even more honored I got to see his farewell announcing on HBO... Very sad day for boxing. R.I.P. Nick Charles, it was an honor to you share the same love of boxing with a good person like you...
Five days short of his 65th birthday. We knew this was coming, but it is still devastating. He was as true blue a fan as we'll ever know, and comported himself with 100% class at all times. His whole struggle has been heart wrenching to watch unfold publicly. At least, like jc said, he is no longer suffering. Although that won't help his fatherless daughter, she at least has the videos he made her to supplement her young memories and will know by pretty much every third-party comment she encounters that he was a great guy.
