When you've become irrelevant, you take shots at the guy on top. It's a desperate plea for attention. No show here...move along.

Nick Diaz is far from irrelevant he was big talk in 09 after smashing Middleweights Frank Shamrock and Scott Smith. Diaz will be right back to it in a few weeks.

He is hardly irrelevant, and he was not taking shots at GSP. You are right on one account here though... There is no show.... move along. :-((

Diaz's chin seems to always depend on his being in control of what's going on and seeing everything coming. When he's been caught not expecting it, he's been hurt by MUCH smaller and less physically strong guys than GSP (see KJ Noons and Gomi for example). I can totally see GSP stopping Diaz with strikes, not because he's a better boxer than Noons or anything but because he will have Diaz guessing about kicks and punches and clinches and takedowns and could certainly catch him.

I think Diaz is a hell of a fighter and would LOVE to see him fight guys like Kampman and Fitch etc, but you're making him sound way too invincible because of beating guys that are totally vanilla in their attacks like Shamrock and Smith.

A hypothetical GSP/Diaz match to me would look like the GSP/Fitch fight with GSP using his combinations, speed, and strength to dominate the standing exchanges and keep putting Nick on his back with tough ground and pound to a decision victory. Diaz is so slow - he would always be a half step behind GSP.
