When I saw this on the page I saw "Nick Diaz moves up in", I was hoping it would be weight to take on Mayhem. ****.

I would love to see Diaz in another run at the UFC, if they didn't feed him to GSP straight away. I think he could get to number two or three.

If he's not in your top 10, you're short changing him. If he's in your top 5, he's probably a bit too high. Diaz "too high"? That's funny to me.

If that were to happen, I'd love to see Diaz vs Koscheck. For one, this would help settle my top 5 welterweights. I also think this would be a good fight.

I think Koscheck could take him down almost at will, but Nick would be very dangerous for Kos on the ground. Koscheck has also been improving his submission game, so we could see a lot of transitions on the ground. Surely both guys would be trying to punch the other in mouth.

I think Diaz would tie Koscheck into a pretzel on the ground.

That's quite possible. I would still like to see it happen.

Diaz is very good off his back. That's one of his strengths, especially if he comes back to the UFC, he's improved even further than he was at when fighting Sanchez and whatnot.

Submitting Cyborg is far, far easier then submitting Koscheck.

There's a difference between the B level (at best) competition he's been facing at SF and the top dogs of the division.

This is insane. If a journeyman boxer beats maybe 10 moderate guys in a row do they instantly throw him up there with the best in his division? What world are you guys living in where you watch his fights and relative to the competition he's facing and everything else and you walk away thinking, "Whew, that guy is for sure a Top 5 Welterweight!"

He didn't tie Sherk into a pretzel. Or Joe Riggs. Or Parysian. What to they do that Koschek doesn't, especially Sherk? I know it was a few years back, but it was CONSISTENT a few years back and I haven't seen him beat guys of that caliber at 170 since then. Until he does, that's what I'll think of when I think of him being a top guy at welterweight.

The Sherk fight wasnt on the ground and ontop of Diaz improving I'd say the other guys mentioned have a superior sub game to Kos aswell.

Right now #6 seems about right for Diaz to me, he's on a good winning run but hasnt beaten a consistantly prooven opponant. If he can beat Daley and Woodley after the latter has picked up another good win then he'll deserve a spot in the upper levels of the rankings.

The problem at WW is though that because until recently the UFC were the only org running it theres not a great deal of depth when it comes to prooven elite fighters. At some stage you have to allow for fighters outside the UFC to build up a ranking rather than just having the same 5-6 names(GSP, Kos, Fitch, Alves and maybe BJ) switching around.

True they need to start having champions or top contenders from other mma organization fight fighters in the ufc. UFC always claimed they have the best mma fighters in the world but they won't co promote with other organization and let their best fighter fight each other.

I personally think strikeforce heavyweight are more talented than the ufc heavyweights.
