To be honest, I thought he was bang on about Broadhurst, he was very poor after his gift first fight with Uzzy.
I agree. Broadhurst didn't look bothered and was well off the pace. Watt did go on a bit, but his general points were spot on.
He's only been doing the boxing a few weeks, give the bloke a chance. I prefer someone that's calm to a crazed maniac who screams down the microphone every time a half decent punch lands..... like Adam Smith for example. Watt was a bit iffy but his general points were alright, in that Broadhurst sucked and Haskins ought to have known better than to just cruise through a fight.
You want someone with passion but who can keep a lid on what they are trying to say. That's why Ian Darke is probably the best boxing commentator we've had. Not every commentator can be like David Coleman, who was able to make the most tedious 10,000m semi final seem like Hagler vs Hearns. Smith talks for the sake of talking too, which is really annoying.
I don't think is that bad but as already stated that gibbering idiot Watt can bring anyone down to his level.
He was very bad in that fight where the African should have won, so biased towards whoever is the British fighter, was extremely biased and awful in the McCloskey vs Prescott fight. Ignores punches landed by the Foreign guy and over exaggerates any work from the British guy. I'm not a fan but I'll just ignore it and enjoy the fights.
It's not like there are a lot of really good boxing commentators that Sky have the pick of. Ian Darke is by far the best but he's off doing footy in the US or something isn't he? Al Bernstein is the only other really good one I can think of but he's on Showtime and Channel 5. I think Halling is pretty good. He calls it slightly wrong sometimes but, who doesn't?
Slighty wrong, seriously?? how can saying some1s head is clearing when hes staggering round be slightly wrong
Well it was clearing relative to when he was collapsed on the floor so technically he was correct. I get it. You hate him, right?
