From what has been said about this Halling he sounds like an utter twonk.

Cannot comment personally as I am no longer a subscriber of Sky.

Halling is truly awful, ignores action if it doesn't suit his or the Sky teams script or starts a little boring story and talks through the action and never refers back to it if it's the away fighter, as far as Halling is concerned it never happened if he didn't call it and he scores that way.

His interpretation of what's going on does not exist more than half the time, he is always inconsistent with his commentary, he is an NFL commentator and was good at it apparently so maybe he should go back to that.

In fairness I'll say he has stopped saying "fella" in every sentence and using the phrase "this guys teak tough" every fight.

He has to go, Halling is on the verge of making me cancel my subscription it's getting that bad, he ruins my entertainment because muted boxing is hard to enjoy live.

Have to add last night Halling was out of order, he shouldn't be saying "he was robbed..." down the mic after the Crolla result was read out, it implys a corruption. It was very poor scoring in my opinion but not a robbery.

If I remember rightly after Ray Beltran was stiffed in Scotland Ricky Burns was a "lucky boy" but last night according to Halling it was a "robbery".

Again it's the inconsistency and bias that bothers me.

Remember him saying how ''disgusting'' the scores for Porter versus Brook were? Until he realised they were for Brook? Then immediately forgot his faux outrage to celebrate the win? His big trap regularly blurts something before he can engage his brain.

Billy Nelson, you know that posting how fantastic everything and everyone is at Sky Sports Boxing won't get you a job there yourself don't you mate? Nick Halling is woeful, and anyone who has any interest in Boxing knows it. Calling a fighter ''whatever his name is'' might pass as good commentary in your book, but don't moan when other people call it what it is.

Yes he was decent in the studio for NFL a game he knows a fair bit about.

His boxing commentary awful. There should be a button to mute his commentary and just have the crowd atmosphere.

My favourite thing from Halling last night was his comparison of Martin Murray's trainer to North Korea.

My opinion is that when it comes to commentating on any sport is that the commentator is kinda there to help the "casual" fan or those that perhaps dont have the same knowledge of the sport that the more hardcore fan does.

If the commentator was to be very technical and talk about the tiny details in fights then the casual fan would lose interest. They are there to help keep the masses or to describe the action to those who dont see what us avid fans do.

We dont really need commentary on the fights to know exactly whats going on. As we prob know better than the average commentator everything the say will sound so basic and simple that we turn our nose up or roll our eyes but the casual will love it and need it.

Occasionaly you will get someone tho that can give a proper insight .... like him or love him but Paullie Malig can be very good when commentating
