I am looking to find out if anyone can think of nicknames that boxers had that they didnt like.

Al Capone hated being called "Scarface" - but obviously he wasnt a boxer. However, Audley Harrison is commonly called "Fraudley" or "A-Farce" as opposed to "A-Force" and he really doesnt like it.

Are there any other similar example that people can think or? I know Jimmy McLarnin didnt like being called "the Hebrew Scourge" or "the Jew Killer" - but promoter tended to bill him like that to whip up hype and get the crowds in.

    Any others?

You mean insulting nicknames that other people called them?

I imagine Mayweather doesnt like being called Fraud instead of floyd .
Or bernard hopkins having his name changed to Borenard.

not just insulting ones, but yeah insulting ones.

I am really looking for ones that actually became mainstream or common use nicknames and the boxer didnt like it.

Calzaghe not only self proclaimed, but had the 'Legend Killer' name attributed to him by delusional fans and media.

He feels embarrassed by it now

Antonio "The Cheater" Margarito - it would probably sound cooler in Spanish - something like El Cheatadoro

  8. Nikolai Valuev didn't like "Beast from the East" so he dropped that nickname in favour of the "The Russian Giant".

    "Vicious" Victor Ortiz.

Hearns didn't really like "Hitman" and thought it demeaned his boxing skills unlike "Motor City Cobra".
