What a ****ing joke. How did he even manage one round of sparring with that ****? Came for the pay day.
As somebody who also suffers with sciatica,i can sympathise entirely.I'm a Scotsman and was hoping for a Burns win,but obviously not in these circumstance's. I graft all day at work, and do 3 nights a week in the gym, without any probs, but i've had my back go into spasm just leaning over the sink to brush my teeth. Its a horrible condition, and totally unpredictable.
it was a horrible situation.. i feel bad for cook because he wasn't able to fight.. and i feel bad for burns because he trained hard for this fight. cook shouldn't have been there in the first place... but they passed him as being fit. what can you do?
Cook shouldn't be getting grief for this. At the end of the day, it was a freak incident. I feel sorry for the both of them.. for this to happen to Cook and also for all the training, time etc which Burns put in. Yes Cook has history of back problems, it must have been fine in the build up to the fight and he did pass the pre fight medical. As it turns out, he has a prolapsed disc in his back. I hope he makes a full recovery. Also to attempt to carry on fighting through the round with that sort of injury shows you the type of fighter he is.
