Some folk on here simply dont have a clue regarding boxing, but to the clowns who think ricky wouldnt fight anyone there sadly wrong, ultimately we fight who were told,of coarse we want unification fights and Frank knows that and he will get them

Billy surely your team could have rejected Nicky Cook, you don't have to fight who you are told. Your man could easily say i want a decent opponent who is ranked.

To be fair even Cook after a two year layoff is better than that clown he faced last time.

Anyone with a 1-2 would beat that ****er.

No, I agree with Billy, a boxer and trainer are TOLD the opponent, they may have a WISH list but doesnt mean it will happen right away. Warren may or may not get Ricky a huge fight, but its not up to Burns to reject fighters until he gets one he wants. Fingers crossed Ricky will get a really big name. I dont think people should write Cook off so easily, he has beaten some good guys in the past and he knows it will be his last big chance, so he may just go for it big time! Cant see it, but you never know.

why would nelson and burns reject the fight? it'll no doubt sell tickets, it's certainly got more potential interest than burns v. eurobum or v. burkino fasso's national champ, and he'll obviously be well rewarded for what he'll judge a relatively easy nights work.
i can quite understand posters frustration but at the end of the day this is his year in the limelight and his chance to secure his fortune;he don't give a shiite about whether a few message board posters are upset so long as the tickets keep selling and the pay cheques keep coming in.

    Billy you're a div.

Cook is better than the last joker, I agree. But it's still a **** fight. 3 "World" title defences in a row against **** poor non-deserving opposition. Well done, what a champ!

If this fight was after the Martinez fight then fair play, then move on to a meaningful world title fight. But this is becoming a joke now if the Cook fight happens.

I think Nelson and Warren deep down both know that as soon as Burns faces a world-class opponent, he will lose his title.

Right, I couldn't get hold of Dean Powell or Fwank but I have spoken to Frank Maloney about another deal and he can offer:

    -2 star B&B
-no ring entrance music, just a low-key off tv entrance
    -BBE Gloves
    -£400 fight fee
    -Free flight back to Riga

    Do we have a deal?

Could be a lot worse to be fair and at least Cook is a former holder of the belt.

Does Cook not have a sizeable support?
