who wins this one?i think this fight would of been a huge fight in toronto and probably gain the attention of the usa promoters both of these guys had huge followings and it would of been a good fight to watch i think that nickys speed would of been the key in the final outcome as he would of won a 12 round decision:think
Furlano actually did pretty well against Pryor, especially after getting dropped in the first round. I think his lack of true power hurt him, but he was a tough, gritty operator; DiCarlo ended his career on a nice run, and actually appeared to do a little better against common opponents, though. Close fight, but I could see DiCarlo squeaking out a decision over 12 hard fought rounds.
Nicky was slicker but Remo was taller and used his reach really well and was always in superb condition, something that Nicky sometimes wasn't.Would have been a great fight with Remo taking a close nod over Furlano. Nicky's handlers also appeared better schooled than Remo's and I think this hurt his career bigtime. He should have been much better known and had bigger paydays.
If I had to pick one of the two my money would be on Furlano.. Remo was an excellent fighter... I believe both fighters actually started out @ the same club in Toronto (Sully's Boxing Club the old Toronto Athletic Club...) Remo being approx. 5 yrs. Nicky's junior... The bottom line, Furlano was a killer and would of taken Remo out in the mid rounds... I have respect for both fighters...
i think that furlano after is fine performance against who at the time was probably the best pound for pound boxer aaron pryor he should of cleaned house in canada by fighting big names as dicarlo and osullivan which would of been huge draws in either toronto or montreal with espn and hbo possibly picking up the broadcast and then challenging mancini for another crack at the title:yep:think
