Nareepangsri keeps pressing on, whipping both hands around with her face down, but Sumaehe is clocking her with the left hand and finally drops her. Nareepangsri gets up and bravely wades into the pocket again but Sumaehe mauls her into the ropes and keeps wrestling her in place and hammering both forearms into her. Bell rings to end the round about 35 seconds early for some reasons.

Round 9

Nareepangsri gets knocked down in a corner immediately at the start of the ninth, basically just crumbling under the slightest attack from Sumaehe, who seems to still have plenty in her tank. Nareepangsri's balance is completely shot, and while she is pumping her arms out diligently they are just noodled out in every direction, while Sumaehe connects flush with her 1-2. Nareepangsri falls again, with the ref now finally doing the right thing and waving it off.

They adorn Sumaehe with a medal, in addition to her newly claimed belt. (this was for the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council female bantam title)

 

Huh. They concluded the broadcast, rolled credits and everything. Hard to imagine that was the main event, when there was a 12-rounder (for the Indonesia Professional Boxing Commission KTPI/IBPC bantam title) featuring the promoter's own son that had not yet been shown.

Two hours ago they started the broadcast with Mokoginta vs. Sinam, which ended in a single round, and that is all they've shown. Two bouts, in two hours, one lasting under two minutes.

 

I mean, I'm not that mad that I don't get to see a 6-7-1 house fighter take on a 2-18 tomato can in a domestic battle over an obscure belt in a country with a very weak talent pool...but I mightn't have invested the last hour of my life and sat through a low-level women's title match had I known it would shake out this way...

Oh well. Sunk cost fallacy. Moving on..
