7 feet tall 320 pound iron chinned Valuev defeated John Ruiz in the most boring trilogy of all times, but can he use his jab and size to defeat Andy Ruiz?
A lot of people think old Holyfield beat Valuev. Ruiz is a lot younger, faster and busier plus he has a chin just as good as Holyfield's if not better. He would outbox Valuev with ease.
I thought John Ruiz won the first fight Valuev was very tall and had a jab and was big guy who could take a punch but was clumsy and slow. He was out boxed by Chagaev and lost a track meet to Haye. I'm not sure Ruiz would out maneuver Valuev but his combinations would be very accurate. At 268 he would be pretty big for Valuev despite the height differential. Would have to favor Ruiz by decision but Valuev is tough to beat on the cards
Imagine if Haye KO’ed him, yes Valuev was not great, but the size difference would of make it look extremely impressive. Golden highlight reel KO stuff that would of been.
Ya know I kind of oddly miss the Valuev circus show. I think he probably beats Ruiz on size alone, the reach differential would be jaw dropping.
The fact that he was knocked down by two heavy shots, shook them off really well and then took a huge right and still wasn't knocked down and went on to knock down Joshua twice in the same round. The closest Holyfield came to that was the epic 10th round in the first Bowe fight but Joshua hits a lot harder than Bowe that's for sure.
I wouldn't say Joshua hits harder than Bowe with any kind of certainty. I also think whilst Andy has showed a good chin thus far it hasn't be tested like Holyfield's was over the course of his career so it's way to early to make that comparison.
Haye would have beaten Valuev much easier if he hadn't have been so cautious. Haye was an over thinker. He used stilts to help him prepare in camp.
