Valuev feeds Marciano with his jabs and crosses, keeping Marciano off-balanced. Marciano isn't strong or fast enough to break Valuev's chin. Marciano would be severly cut after the first rounds that would end the bout or Valuev's hard cross does the job.

Not strong enough :huh ,are we talking about the same rocky mate?,he was a seriously strong guy,id also say valuev has never been hit as hard or as by as many punches as marciano,i dont personaly think he could take it,but 5 rounds is far to early, maybe about round 9 for rocky to finish him.

But surley you cant be saying that Chagaev who beat him would have a prayer against marciano?,or ruiz who in all probability beat valuev.Size does not alone mean much, look at jess willard and primo carnero both huge men,but neither that great, they got destroyed by far smaller men.

Was that test target 7 feet high though? Probably more like 5'8", anywhere he'd like it. He'd have to punch way up to reach Valuev's head which will take some of the steam of the punches, and leaving him prone to counters. Those PSI tests mean **** all anyway. You don't need those to see that Marciano can punch and how you can hit a heavybag has very, very little to do with what you can do in the ring.

Any boxing expert knows that a great chin will always outlast a great punch. Chuvalo vs Frazier/Foreman, Mercer vs Lewis/Klitschko, SRR vs LaMotta, Peter vs Klitschko, etc.

    What are you talking about?
What you are essentially saying is: a car with an airbag is useless, because when your forehead hits the steering wheel and you're out cold, no airbag is gonna help you. :huh
A great chin prevents you from being out cold, by definition.

Chagaev won against Valuev because of his fast hooks and ability to slip Valuev's jab.
Chagaev had 228lbs,6'1''; Marciano had 185lbs,5'10''.
Valuev showed against Chagaev that he got an ironchin although Chagaev kept landing sharp left hooks.
Marciano's power simply isn't good enough to floor Valuev.

Willard and Carnero were worse than Valuev. Valuev's basics are there. Subtract Foreman's chin and power and he'd never been champ.

Ruiz is 4 inches and 50lbs bigger than Marciano.

Rocky Marciano is not Rocky Balboa.

Your right, he's better. What really makes me sick is people who hail to all of the modern heavyweights, and boxers. Most of the best and top ATG's head to head, and high on lists are from era Marciano was in, until the mid 80's. And it also makes me sick on how people like you complete underrate Marciano. He's a head-head great fighter, and he should rank high on lists.

Makes me wonder why there are weightclasses at all.

Why don't we send Manny Pacquiao in with Winky Wright? Pacman may have some chance.
