Do you even know who Rocky Marciano was? No doubt you have seen his boxrec record but do you have any understanding of the fighter?
marciano KO 2nd round. valuev is wayy too big, and too slow. his jab would do marciano no good. marciano would use the same boxing stance he used to knockout walcott (the crouch with the left hand up). and really KO valuev. valuev tries to get up but goes down for the KO
. Consider a nappy. He's not joking. You've shown zero understanding for this guy and you talk about him A LOT. All you've really said is "so and so would beat him because.." and then three lines about the guy he's been matched up with.
What is it with threads of Joe Louis/Rocky Marciano, all-time great fighters Vs relatively unaccomplished contenders from the modern era like Tua and Valuev, whose only real advantage is size? Where is the Primo Carnera Vs Evander Holyfield flip-flop reverse?
Harsh. Just because he's a freakish giant, freakishly hairy and has a freakishly deformed skull doesn't mean he's a freak. Oh, wait, yes it does. atsch
Primo Carnera would have a 60 lb weight advantage on Evander Holyfield! Come on now guys Holyfield was a great fighter but he should not even be fighting in the same weight class as Carnera. It is just asking too much of him.
Some of these kids are getting too much respect being responded to, in the Classic section with there ignorant posts. Its an agenda they have to abort common sense and boxing knowledge. Some of these post are transparent and dumb
You know, watching fights helps get a better understanding of a fighter...you should try it some time. A lot of the time, boxing defies common sence, which is why I love it.
Holyfield now, would have been a little HEAVIER than Dempsey was when he fought Carnera. Judging soley on the basis of size, is it fair to say Valuev would have little difficulty defeating Dempsey? or for that matter Joe Louis? Who both weigh about the same as Marciano did.
Of course not. I make the point that some people aply that principle to the old timers and then shamelesly reverse it when dealing with more modern fighters. Most of the people who pick Nicolai Valuev over Rocky Marciano would never dream of picking him over Joe Frazier or Evander Holyfield.
Valuev has less dynamism than Rocky Marciano's 300lb heavy bag. If he worked out on it the heavy bag would win by decision.
I agree Marciano was streets ahead of Valuev and would beat the **** of the plodding giant. The jockstrap comment was just a silly joke.
