To go back to the first page though:

Mr Pontius's claims for Valuevs chin are now at least partialy suported.

I think his "iron chin" has been exposed a bit. Since 2007, we have seen first hand a cruiserweight(albeit hard hitting) can put valuev on jelly legs with one punch. This means Marciano could hurt valuev, and hurt him big time.

That " cruiserweight " , scaled 217lbs and is 5 inches taller than Rocky.

That wasn't caused by a punch though... It was a momentary loss of balance.. And at the age of 36, after being off for one year, against an opponent who was 6'3", 215 Lbs, not 5'10", 185....

    Just thought I'd chime in.....;)

Due to Modern Nutrition/Benefits/supplements and who knows what else. If Rocky were exposed to those benefits, he could weigh in at 205-210lb ripped to shreds no problem. As for Height, David Tua was 5'9. Mike Tyson 5'10. Sam Langford 5'6....do these men not hit hard enough to hurt valuev?

    Besides,

are you trying to say Haye hit harder than Marciano?

huh? This was most certainly caused by a left hook. Valuev did the chicken dance. His legs turn to rubber. he didn't know where he was at for a second or two.

    Lastly,

Rocky was 5'11, not 5'10. Most reports list him around 5'10 3/4" which is closer toward 5'11.

Rocky was 5"11 which was still short for a heavyweight but as we all know he was a freak, Vitali Klitscho is 6"7 and they make his 6"81/2, I think they all exaggerate for emphasis like it makes a difference. They were 7" ft fighter in every era they just did not make to the top. There was always 6"6 and 6"5 guys but none were ever great or very good, besides Primo and Jess and Buddy Baer

I judge a fighter on what he was ,not on what he might have been in a different era with supplements and advanced nutrition etc.
Rocky was ripped as he was, extra weight would not help a 5'10'' man, whose natural chest
measurement was 40'', it would only make him slower.
Shannon Briggs 6'4'', put on 40lbs after his win over Foreman, did it help him any?

Marciano hit hard enough to hurt anyone, hard enough to stop anyone?
Valuev was wobbled by Haye, no doubt ,but his chin has held up so far.
I beleive there has to be a benchmark ,where even the greatest fighters become ineffective because of their lack of size.Langford beat Bill Tate 6'6'', could he stop a man nearly 2 foot taller and 150lbs heavier than himself?

Dempsey smashed 7'2' Big Ben Wray's jaw in 2 places with one punch,so perhaps.

It is however, possible to envisage that Marciano would have some difficulty with the giant, not a given ,but possible.
Marciano ,after all, did not beat any prime top big men.
As to Haye's power, would you be astonished if he dropped Marciano in a fight?
If so have a look at the first shot he lands on Ruiz.

Why the round and round with this **** ... this is why you your Rocky points lose credibility ... Rocky would have to saynd on a step ladder to reach Valuev ... Haye is much taller, has a much longer reach and a completely different style based on speed that made his ability to connect far different than it would be for Rocky.

What a butcher job Dempsey would have done on this dude. And then KO him.

    But he still would connect.
Basically, If haye can do it, then Rocky could, who is a much harder puncher. I also have no doubt that Rocky would anhiliate Haye, @ cruiserweight or heavyweight.
