Locche was possibly the greatest defensive wizzard and most ring wise boxer to ever pull on a glove. Sadly his career passed by with most of the boxing world knowing very little about this amazing ring gem. He was well known in his native Argentina where he would pack Luneta park Buenos Aires with 20,000 adoring fans but only fought outside Argentina on 3 occasions. I rate him as a better defensive boxer than other greats suchas Pep who used footwork and movement because he had an amazing ability to stand stationary with his hands by his side , on his knees and sometimes behind his back and aviod devestating punhes from the best of his era. One of the most amazing facts about Locche was that he was a life long chain smoker and hated the gym but was still able to fight 15 rds. He had no power scoring only 14 knockouts in 117 wins which is testement to the fact that Locche was a true genious of the ring.
