What are your thoughts on Locche's bouts with Laguna and Ortiz based on the limited footage that we have on both fights? Not really particularly exciting fights but still intriguing to see masters at work. Locche vs Laguna showed Laguna doing a little more "work" by throwing more punches but not landing much because of Locche's impeccable defense, while Locche isn't doing anything significant offensively because of Laguna's movement. Locche vs Ortiz is another one where Ortiz is showing a more versatile game than Locche. There was even outcry of robbery after it was announced that it was a draw when it was a clear win for Ortiz. Judging from some fight details and the little footages we see on both fights I honestly think these 2 "draws" were more of a case of Locche being heavily favored in his own backyard despite not doing anything of note except showing great defense. If they took place in any other neutral countries I can guarantee that Laguna and Ortiz would have more likely have gotten a decision against Locche. Problem with Locche was that he didn't throw much offence, so i could see him losing or drawing those fights. It really depends how you score a fight
Makes you wonder how his record would really look if he wasn’t always fighting in Argentina with the judges in his favor given his overly defensive style. Although to be fair the few times he did fight outside of Argentina he was able to stop Fuji in Japan, and also had decision losses to Fraser and Cervantes when he fought in Panama and Venezuela respectively.
