It now has been confirmed that Holzken will face Callum Smith on saturday. as he appears to be completely unkown to most in the boxing world, here is some info on him: he stands 6 feet tall and has a record of 13-0 (10). but what his record doesnt Show, is his kickboxing experience: 88-11 with 46 knockouts. being a kickboxer myself, i have closely followed this guys Career and trust me, he is not just some kickboxer! this guy basically is mr. kickboxing, having beaten the best in the world and becoming world Champion in GLORY, the premier k1 Organisation in the world. his record reads like a who is who of the greatest kickboxers of the past 2 decades. and before you shake your head and say: "yeah, he is a great kickboxer....doesnt mean **** in boxing"......just wait a Minute. holzken´s greatest strength in kickboxing has always been his boxing. known as a devestating Puncher, his pet Punch has always been his left hook to the liver....the cause of basically most of his knockouts. and he has a granite chin. sure, his boxing record is pretty thin. but he does hold a win over polyakov....a very good fighter who recently beat Giovanni de carolis and doing so in italy. polyakov also fought undefeated german stefan haertel in a reserve bout on the brahmer vs brant undercard. he easily beat haertel.......but was robbed in a horrible decision. holzken then took out polyakov in 2 rounds recently, doing so with his left hook to the liver. sure, Smith will be a huge favorite. but holzken is a much more dangerous fighter than most People believe.
you are referring to W.A.K.O Gold medals......thats Amateur stuff. look at the professional acomplishments of holzken and who he beat. he was a glory world Champion and beat the likes karapetian, valtellini, raymond Daniels, alexander stetcurenko, murthel groenhard, Marco pique and so on. pagonis has a 9-4 pro record. he only fought once in glory.....and got beaten. the only other fighter of world class he fought was danny ilunga........and again he got stopped. as i said, comparing him to holzken....there is no comparison. holzken on a totally different Level.
