    ok..its like this. For me, growing up in London, watching Benns Career from beginning to end, Maybe its only NOW i really appreciate what a great, aggressive, all action fighter nigel really was. For anyone here from England and especially London, you will know where Im coming from. What a legend the guy was. If only we had someone around now as close to him for excitement. Apart from the man in my avatar (kirkland) theres no one around. Nigel...if you are out there reading this, you are a legend. We miss you.. You were the man.

    Back in the day I never used to like Benn, I used to like the "gentleman" Eubank (who nobody liked) - I felt you had to like one or the other. As the years have gone by I now fully appreciate Benn and rate his resume very highly (British wise).

    There is also no question about how exiting a boxer he was at times... cricky:yikes

    i agree..i liked Eubank more because he was different, eccentric, but after the watson fight, eubank had so many stinkers (probably understandable) and just did enough to win, where as Benn always gave 100% and went out all guns blazing. The mclellan fight was the greatest fight in a British Ring bar none.

    It wasn't until the creation of youtube and various media uploading sites were around that I was able to truly see what Nigel Benn was. The man was amazingly fun to watch and win or lose, he was going to give it his all to kill the guy he was fighting.

    Still a little disappointed we never got to see him against RJJ or Toney stateside but que sera sera.

    Benn fought plenty quality State side (early in his career as well), and p4p big hitter McClelan in the UK - those two (Jones, Toney) were more rising as he was disappearing - particularly JOnes - well Jones... that was supposed to be other British fighters mantle...

    A proper legend unlike todays hero, Ricky "The Fraud" Hatton.

    He dished out to G-Man what he deserved to for the torture of helpless animals, Benn ****ed that puppy slayer up for good.

    Nigel Benn was one of the 3 best Super Middleweights in boxing history along with Collins and Eubank. It would be great having the 3 of them still fighting today if you could turn back the clock

    All props to Nigel "The Dark Destoyer" Benn. There were times in the past I wasn't rooting for him, but I always loved watching him and always respected him. He was a fierce, fearless guy.
