Common knowledge that Nigel Benn refused/failed to give a blood/urine sample after the Mclellan fight.

Amazing this has been washed under the table.

...BUT unsurprising - the BBBOC were unprepared for a head injury like Mclellans from a medical standpoint and would have have been taken to the cleaners if it was found out BENN was Juicing on top of everything.

Benn also would have faced a criminal prosecution if caught, considering this has caused a man to be essentially bed ridden for the rest of his life, I cant beleive this has been not been investigated further by Mclellans team.

They probably didnt have the money to fund an investigation.

half way down the page, says Benn collapsed on the way to dressing room just before drug test(Possibly where his Hypnosis from Paul Mckenna coincidentally ran out!!!! ROFL)

What if Benn was on Crystal Meth, he admits he liked recreational drugs. Meth is an Amphetamine like Ephedrine.

Collapsing after the toughest and most brutal fight on British shores I have seen in my lifetime is hardly the same as refusing to take a urine test. What were they supposed to do stick a catheter in him while he was unconscious and take a sample?

Benn was wrecked after that fight. Broken jaw, nose, pissing blood and a shadow on the brain. That fight ruined him, he gave everything he had in that fight and was a shadow of himself afterwards.

Correct:good I watched it again last night, jeezus he took a hammering, only his resolve & never say die attitude got him through it, McClellan finished Nigel as a top draw fighter, as you rightly state, that was the most brutal fight of the modern era ever to take place on these shore's. The damage to Benn was incredible, no wonder he collapsed once the adrenaline ran out.

This is complete and utter bull****.

Benn didnt give a sample because he collapsed.

McClellen lost because he was cheap and came in light.

try and be subjective and forget who started the thread, if it is mentally possible for you.

    1. Its a high profile World title fight
    2. no Medical provisions in place for potential head injury,
    3. Benn was supposed to be shot to pieces going into the fight
    4. Mclellan almost dies
    5. Benn collapses prior to giving a drug sample
    6. Why wasnt he followed up on the sample considering his amazing performance and ability to walk through punches?
    7. not even a urine sample the next day was required.
    8. can you imagine the implications to the British Boxing board of control

I work in construction and if someone falls or gets run over some plant their health and safety policies and legislation are called into question, someone gets injured in boxing and the Board liable gets away with no drug testing and no medical provisions to protect the fighter without any financial recompense to the victim.

    Its absolutely disgusting and stinks.

Who says they didn't and even of they didn't why didn't they try to? Is Benn supposed to **** in a bottle when he wakes up and try and find someone to give it to?

    objective.

it's an unfortunate oversight, but 1 that is understandable given the circumstances, and a damn sight less scandalous than the farce surrounding porter v brook.
