Nigel Benn - Marvin Hagler?

I love Benn as well but Hagler would handle him I think it would look alot like Mugabi Hagler whith Marv taking Nigels best shots early then coming on late for a TKO

 

Hagler just doesn't lose to Benn or anyone else relying on power and aggression.

 

I don't even see this fight as competative. Hagler could punch a lot harder than given credit for. If he is in destruct and destroy mode, he takes Benn out inside 3. If he is in boxer/puncher mode it would probably go 6. Either way, there is absolutely nothing Benn could do to stop himself from getting ktfo'd

 

The early rounds would be back and forth action with Benn taking more of the early rounds but Hagler breaking Benn down mid-late with his quality/defense/chin being the telling factors.

This wouldn't be an easy fight for Hagler by any means and would be a full paced war of attrition. Benn matches up quite well with Hagler but the marvelous 1 comes out as the more refined fighter who would win but experience the terror of a mini-Tyson

 

It is always a win for Marvin.. Marvin would have won by any means possible. just too tough alround, but it may have had exciting moments as Benn struggled and made a stand to fight back.....

 

Hagler wins this, no way Benn is going to put a dent in him, but Nigel would give Marvin a good fight, nonetheless.

 

Benn goes down in the middle phase of the fight after giving Hagler sterner than expected resistance.

 

There is no version of a 160lbs Benn that would of beaten Hagler after mid 1974.

A match between primed 168lbs Benn and a post Sibson Hagler. Now that would be interesting....

 

Hagler by ko in 8 or 9, and there's no way that Benn knocks him down.

 

I love both guys. Nigel had such fast hands, but Hagler took a good punch and Benn's was not so great. Dewitt knocked him down with a nice counter left. I think Marvin stops Benn in 5 or 6.

 

I have to go with the Marvelous one. He was the total package in his prime.

 

Hagler, seeing how easily Duran messed around with Benn in sparring and how Hagler beat Duran, i know styles make fights but overall Hagler was a better boxer and from watching the fights Hagler would not be knocked down if he could face Hearns's and Mugabi's best punches Benn isn't taking him out, Hagler had an unbelievable chin he was never down and faced harder punchers than Benn could deal out, Hagler decision

there is a sparring on youtube, Duran vs Benn. Benn was tremendous slugger, maybe he would give more troubles to hagler than Mugabi, but still I believe in Hagler win by KO or TKO within 10 rounds

No way does Nigel have an earthly against that version of Hagler who was always more of a counterpunching box fighter, different levels here:yep

Even that later/older version of Hagler would just demolish an exhausted Nigel in around 6 rounds tops or sooner. I'm a massive fan of the dark Destroyer but he ai'nt at the races here, again this will all be down to what sort of Hagler shows up as to when it'll end.
