If we are talking prime "Benn the brawler" then Collins wins in the same way Eubank won their first fight. But if it is the new improved "boxer" Benn (ie vs Eubank II) then Benn sneaks it. Collins always came up short against the top tier fighters before his luck came through at SM and he faced the faded Eubank and Benn. Benn was ****ed after Gerald MccLellan and should have retired there and then.

Collins would have always stopped Benn inside 12 , maybe Benn lasts d distance 1 out of 4 times , after learning his lesson after being stopped in d 1st 2 and then gets stopped again in d 4th after taking 2 much punishment till then .

D popular lie is that Benn and Eubanks were shot by d time they fought Collins which is true , but Collins was more shot than Eubanks and probably than Benn as well . Fact is Collins' brain damage prevented him from fighting Calzaghe as n elimination prior fighting Jones .

Benn was 6 months older than Collins but Collins turned pro 3 months earlier and fought d much better opponents and did not enjoy being saved by homecrooking , constant fouling (except vs Reggie Johnson whom fouled as much against him)

    Collins fought :
    Reggie Johnson
    Kevin Watts
Tony Thornton (3 years and 2 months b4 Eubanks fought him)

Mike McCallum (b4 Watson , Kalambay #2 and Toney #1 , that was closer 2 prime McCallum than most faced) ,

Sumbu Kalambay (36 years old by that time , but in Italy Collins did not get a fair verdict from d judges) .

All of these prior 2 fighting Eubanks*2 which was prior 2 fighting Benn*2 .

Benn also fought Eubanks*2 (and got stopped 1ce by him as well) prior 2 fighting Collins , but whom else he fought ?

McClellan - Benn was going 2b stopped as son as d 1st , but d referee did not let d already brain damaged (b4 d fight even started) McClellan 2 finish his job .
Later Benn fouled his way en route 2 that late stoppage .

    Watson - Benn got stopped
Barkley - severely drained @ d weight by then 4 a long time
Robbie Sims - nearly 32 years old at d time
Sanderline Williams - Benn gets a gift from 2 out of 3 judges
    Henry Wharton
    Doug DeWitt

Thulani Malinga - 37 years old in their 1st , 41 years old in their rematch .
Malinga could have been 65 and it wouldn't matter , because he's just a name used by biased , knowingly fully intentionally ignorant agenda driven Benn apologists
____ still i saw comments on Benn not deserving this or that verdict vs _____ Malinga

so whereas Benn might have fought 1-2 more names than Collins had , d state of his opponents by d time he fought them was worse by far , and they belonged 2 a much lower level of quality .

Hence Benn "looked good" and Collins did not .
But was it really this way ? does getting stopped 4 (in facts 5) times in 1's career is really looking better than some1 whom got stopped 0 times ?

Yet almost every1 ranks Benn higher than "d limited" Collins .

I could do a similar comparison of Collins with Eubanks but those who understood this can do it by themselves .

I agree with some of your points but as for Benn and Eubank being past their prime, they were and Collins WAS in his prime imo, age doesn't matter, fighters hit and pass their prime and different ages and points in their career. As for Kalambay? Please he CLEARLY beat Collins wheather they were in Italy or not.

Collins was not in his prime , i listed all of his opponents that mattered prior 2 fighting Eubanks and then he had Eubanks*2 in addition , just like Benn , prior 2 fighting Benn .

D only reason Collins did not fight Calzaghe was due 2 him being brain damaged and d damage was there years prior 2 being found .
Or did u not agree with this claim ?

i watched Kalmbay vs Collins and Collins deserved d verdict .
Collins did not do bad vs McCallum or Johnson either .
I guess d 1 whom beat him (or at least could have beaten him) d best was Eubanks , but then Collins was more shot than him by d time when they fought .

Benn & Eubanks were protected fighters , and when 1 thinks that a protected fighter does not put in d ring with Gerald McClellan , think about d special treatment that Benn got in this fight . N Ali level treatment .
Now consider that Barkley probably never belonged at 160 , and his problem of making that weight was unbearable by d time when he fought Benn (not that it was really bearable prior 2 it) .
And then Benn avoided almost every good fighter in his division and usually got stopped by those whom he did fight .

Losing over d distance grants no respect , but losing by stoppage does .

Collins proved he could take Benn's power, so he wins.

Collins surprisingly said that if Benn had caught him with another flush power shot in that first fight he would've gone down.

That's why he would win? Collins was at his best, Benn was not. Benn probably would have put Collins away in his prime.
