I think he is one of the most exciting ever. look at the great fights he was in:

    mcclellan
    eubank 1 & 2
    watson
    dewitt
    barkley
logan (not sure that was his name)

he has earned legendary status in boxing despite falling short of being great. I and a lot of boxing boxing fans will remember him more than joe calzaghe (who i think is a better fighter) Roy Jones and bernard hopkins (all superior to him in talent)

Evander Holyfield and Arturo gatti push him close for the title of most memroble fighter of the late 80's and 1990's

He was fun in the 80s, but post EubankI he had a habit of putting people to sleep sometimes, with the odd exception of course!;)

He is one of the most exciting fighters for sure, probably of his era since he was capable of the major upset and to beat solid opponents unlike Gatti who normally looked totally outmatched when faced with a quality opponent.

Nigel Benn could be very exciting at times, but he wasn't the most exciting fighter ever. There were more worthy fighters who I'd class as being even more exciting to watch such as Henry Armstrong and Mike Tyson.

I doubt he was more exciting than Mathew Saad Muhummed.

If we are talking About pure Excitement alone then of course it will come down to personal preferances, some will think Sluggers simply crude practitioners, and will get truely excited about a wonderful boxing exhibition provided by a Pep, a Conn, a Pastrano, a Buchanan Ect Ect

Others of course will Favour the Blood and Thunder Gatti's of This world
Guys, who with their assets and vunerabilities will provide roller coaster Drama

You could never pick a single fighter and say he is the most Exciting, just perhaps that he belongs in the top draw for excitment

Nigel was indeed exciting, but then, for many so was saad Muhammed, Boza Edwards, Danny Lopez, tell you what, for Pure excitment some of the Frank "Animal" Fletcher wars ( Jackson, Sabeter, Singletary, Ect Ect ) made him a great Tv Fan Favourite, and i am Sure Rocky Graziano sent "Dont Blink" shivers of excitment through many fans

Tyson was Excitment, as indeed was Dempsey

Nigel was amongst them somewhere and that should be more enough, but i certainly would not like to Pick one over the many others. as iu said, its simply down to personal preferance

Benn had great heart and great power.

Nigel Benn vs Tommy Hearns at 168 would have been one of the best 3 round fights ever if it had been made.
