Nigel Benn v Donny Lalonde at 168 lbs

Benn beat McClellan while Lalonde was stopped by a past his prime Leonard, Benn was on another level to Lalonde but Donny would have a puncher`s chance and his longer reach would bother Benn, I pick Benn though, a far more proven fighter, McClellan was a bigger puncher than Leonard and would have destroyed Lalonde.

 

I have to make Nigel Benn a heavy favorite. Lalonde’s only chance is to go out early and land something huge and fast. But if he doesn’t he’s getting taken apart

I think Benn would really hurt Donny. Would be a bit of a wild one while it lasted tho. Would actually love to have seen this one.

Benn is a tad underrated IMO so nice to see positive responses for Benn's chances. Nigel had become a much more intelligent fighter at 168 so I may buck the trend and have Benn winning a wide points victory, or perhaps a 9-10th round stoppage.

Loved Nigel, ever since i first saw him on Fight Night vs a guy called Rob Niewenhuizen. If I have a favourite fighter, it's probably Nige. His fights always got mates out to the pub in the 90s and I went the Eubank rematch at Old Trafford, so at least got to see him live.
