LOL, Benn would be too far out of his depth against McCallum. The Bodysnatcher far too cute.

Hindsight probably suggests Bomber Graham was the only British Middle of the late 80s who would stand a chance.

And if Herol had been a bit more mature, he would of edged McCallum when he had the chance.

 

Mike wins this every time..no doubt in my mind.

Just to skilled, to much stamina and to good a chin.

Check out his fight with Braxton where he was on the backfoot jabbing Dave's ears off at several times.

Really Graham came as close as you are going to get..Stylistically he was the man to beat Mike and if things had went just a little bit differently that night he may have got the nod.

Would be a bloody good fight regardless...Benn would be bringing it.

Benn gets a painful schooling here and is stopped ,he was outboxed and kod by Watson,whose straight punches through the middle,Benn had no answer for.Watson, was in turn outclassed and kod by McCallum.
I fail to see the logic of your pick

 

At the end of the day, if Jackson couldn't force McCallum backwards, Benn isn't going to.

 

I suppose Benn could get lucky, but not likely.

Bad bad night for Benn this!!!! McCallum is all sorts of wrong for him.

Eubank may have stood a chance (not sure many are going to agree with this though)!!!

my eldest sons middle names are nigel benn but even i think benn would not win,benn takes a painful schooling bravely and gets stopped around the tenth.

 

Eubank was too conservative in his work rate to beat McCallum he was also hurt by body shots.

Benn would probably not beat McCallum, but would put up a better showing than Watson and Jackson. Watson watched the Collins fight and saw McCallum fade and thought he was getting old. He felt pressure was the answer, he fought out of his usual style and was hammered. The Benn that fought Watson was in turn a novice.

 

Mickey Duff ,Watson's manager at the time, had a very good bet on Watson to beat Benn.In contrast he tried to dissuade Watson from taking on McCallum.

 

McCallum to outbox and stop Benn late, Benn would likely make it hard early, he was a forced nature. I used to idolise Eubank and Benn but McCallum was a cut above technically/defensively and just generally in terms of boxing skills, our lads made too many mistakes to mess with the likes of Toney/McCallum
