Followed both men's careers I feel Benn 1987 though inexperienced would have too much for a faded Sibson.

The only way Sibson wins at that point is Benn blows himself out going for the early stoppage and Sibson catches him after the midway point.

Good points previous posters made on the Logan fight Benn was in big trouble but just had that natural raw power that changes fights.

Still a winning record and spoke big at the pre fight press conference about wanting to be #1 contender by 1990! He learned on the job, and gave Benn a tricky ass fight. It was the first time he’d ever had a training camp, exactly the same with Lenzie Morgan a few years later (Morgan was genuine world class though his record didn’t suggest it; he won most of the fights he lost even on a days notice).

Fire scarred Morgan gave Benn a tough fight with that long jab. He was robbed against Tiozzo in his previous fight, and Tiozzo was unfortunate to lose his WBA belt the fight before that

Management is VITAL in boxing. So many are mismanaged. Chris Eubank Sr will tell you his brothers - journeymen - were more talented than he was, yet became mugs of the money men; used and abused (and discarded to the gutter). That’s why Sr demanded the money he felt he was worth and played the business as what it was, a business.

The reality is this isn’t sport. Sad but true.

In 87 Benn was still in his debut year fighting 8rounders, I'd take Sibbo to still have enough to get the win .

Barry Hearn (or Warren) was nowhere near as bright as Mickey Duff or the US promoters, giving Benn and Eubank many potential banana skins.

I think some later fights where they’re a bit brain damaged.

Where would you have rated Lenzie Morgan at 168? What do you mean by world class?

Well he beat Tiozzo clearly, who shouldn’t have lost the WBA belt. The Benn fight was close over 10 rounds. Though Benn was trying to box at that time
