Ward has little power and Benn would just keep coming at him. Benn could get rough but could also box and weave when the need came.

Ward would win UD. Remember that as tough as Benn was, Had Mclellan boxed with him, it would have been an easy night.

 

The only boxers that can beat Ward are retired.

Benn is a very wild and explosive fighter, but Ward will avoid Benn's power punches and pick him apart with his jab, and short accurate punches..
Ward is simply bigger, more skilled and smarter

Ward dominates him and wins pretty much every round en route to a UD.

Undefeated means nothing - I can name 100 average undefeated fighters. Hell, I can name average undefeated champions. So can you.

If people think Benn can win a decision, that's one thing. But anyone picking Benn via KO is thinking of the Benn at 160.

 

Nigel will KO Ward. It's a styles mismatch.

Ward does not have the power to make Benn respect him. Benn will literally walk Ward down and beat him up.

If you look at what happened with Gerald, after the first round KD, Nigel took murderous shots from Gerald and kept on coming. He began working to the body and head himself and simply out worked and systematically broke Gerald down piece by piece.

I don't even know if Ward can beat Nigel's victim Gerald Mccellan tbh, much less Nigel Benn.

 

Ward would UD Benn. Ward is a big SMW while Benn was a MW. Benn was a crazy guy who would go for the kill or be killed kind of fighting but Ward is a superior boxer and would use his advantages to progress to a UD.

 

Ward is a spoiler, he disrupts your rhythm. Froch has a better chin than Benn, but wasnt able to "walk thru" nothing because Ward is a spoiler.

 

McClellan was in no trouble whatsoever until a savage headbutt in the middle rounds that was missed by the ref. Until then Benn was getting dominated **** easily. Showed a lot of heart and some accurate punching, but the punches were having little effect.

Besides, Ward is a far smarter and more versatile fighter than McClellan ever was. He could either smother Benn inside making him useless (as what often happened) or he could pick Benn off at the outside, which would be very successful later on in the fight, if not early.

 

Kessler and Froch are/were still good champions, despite having lost their 0..

They may well have been good, but look at everything.
Kessler was an unwell double vision suffering fighter who was rusty and headbutted, yet that version beat Froch.
Benn had a better workrate, speed and footwork than both those two, although Im first to admit, styles make fights.
Froch seemed jaded after being on the road 5 of his last 6 fights.
You forget that or fail to note that Froch before facing Ward had been taken to a Mdec by an old SMW journeyman and is 35 years old, with a low workrate and is slow.
Mdec by an old SMW journeyman and at that time had only won vacant world titles against SMWs that hadnt done much.


Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I favour Benn by KO after shocking Ward with his speed and aggression
