I think Abraham wins....better all around fighter. Abraham took Mirnada's punches and fought with a broken jaw. The man is tough as nails. I say Abraham KO 9.
would have been a great fight. despite benn's legendary status, this would'nt be a wipe out at all. abraham is tough as leather, very sturdy and has got serious 1 punch KO power. his defense is pretty good too. benn was also lot wilder at middle than he was at SMW, and relied on overwhelming opponents. could'nt say who'd win.
Close fight, I can't pick a winner. I give Benn the edge in power, ferocity and work rate, but Arthur has underrated D, would soak alot of that up, and land a majority of what he threw back. Id be inclined to say AA by late rounds TKO, and both men take a beating. Benn being easy to hit and AA whacking hard as hell himself would be the factors.
Id pick Benn altho im very biased as he's one of my fave fighters. Id probably go for a 7-10 round ko or stoppage. I just think at middleweight he was too busy and too much trouble for AA.
i'm a huge benn fan but this would look like watson-benn with abraham using his ear muff defence to block out benn's work and let the dark destroyer wear himself out. abraham would appear to have the punch resistance to withstand a benn onslaught as well as power of his own to take out a weary benn. abraham TKO6. 160 benn was very rough around the edges. dangerous with insane power but not exactly a world beater in terms of a gameplan. he basically walked out of his corner and from the word go would be winging shots at you looking to remove your head from your shoulders. 168 benn on the other hand would have a massive chance against abraham. he was much more of a cutesy with his bob and weave defence and a much more patient, measured attack. still possessed the fire and big power and was a much more well rounded fighter. vastly superior to the 160 version.
Abraham. Benn is somewhat overrated because of the tales from back then. SMW was largely unrecognised outside of the UK. Only the US were at times slightly interested in the new division. Benn, Eubank, Collins were all good fighters, but they also made their legacy on a thin bacground. Abraham. Benn is a slightly better version of Miranda. Benn could win, but KI would bet on AA 8 out of 10 times.
Exactly. Us who have actually followed Benns carreer has respect for the dude, but also know that he was no wizard in the ring. He was a murderous puncher (somewhat like Miranda) with decent skills. His mug was great for selling fights though and the whole difference between him and Eubanks was great stuff. I also think the 168 version was better - however, not more than I would still have it 50-50 at 168.
Abraham would most likely win at 160. Benn was pretty much an all-out, no holds barred, attack-before-you-think fighter at that weight. Abraham would have the ability to block most of Benn's punches and withstand some that do get through. Then he would pick him off and KO him in the mid-rounds. Benn at 168 was a different animal altogether. A better and smarter animal might I add. Benn vs Abraham at 168 would be a different story IMO.
a slightly better version of miranda ? wash your mouth out with soap and water . benn pisses all over miranda . and a thin background ? mclellan, barkley, de witt, robbie simms, logan, watson, eubank, galvano , malinga, these are all fighters who would kick mirandas arse.
I agree. However, let us not overstate the magical transformation. The fact that he looked better has a lot to do with the lesser opposition at the time with 168 being a new division and few countries interested yet.
