what , i suggest you take a look at the mclellan fight. arguably the best performance by a british fighter of ALL time .
sorry i can't agree with this. the guy shook up his style massively at 168. the 160 version of benn would have never got through the g-man fight. benn was a smarter, more measured and more calculated fighter at 168 who used his brain a hell of a lot more. the improvement in his defence was huge. when he began bobbing and weaving he was very tricky to pin down and score on.
Not really. McClellan was not lesser opposition nor is Eubank. The fact that he was able to compete loads better with Eubank in their second fight compared to their first fight tells you a big improvement on Benn's style. Add the McClellan fight and what have you?
Pretty much. Although I think Abraham would still be very dangerous and would still greatly trouble Benn. But yeah, Benn would win at 168.
You write this, but all my eyes see is "I'm a complete ******, everyone on the internet please mock me"...
" benn is over rated because of the tales from back then " - joe average .:huh how long ago do you think it was ? we're not talking about jack johnson here .
Intriguing fight. I think if it goes the distance, although unlikely, Benn wins. However I think Abraham hits too hard and Benn leaves himself too open. Abraham wouldnt get all his own way as Benn would wind him up and find a way to really hurt Abraham but I think Abraham would be able to get the stoppage, just about, by the 10th.
Although Benn has (so far) the better legacy, the fact of the matter is Abraham is a bad matchup for him. He has a tight defence now, and the way he fought on against Miranda shows how tough he is. Benn on the other hand could be wobbled AND stopped; he was usually most dangerous when seriously hurt, but this wouldn't work with Abraham. Abraham W TKO MIDDLE ROUNDS.
Nah, might be the best all round fight, but not all round performance. I rank Calzaghes win over Lacy a better performance, just due to the one sidedness of it.:bbb
Benn probably is underated now and was exciting to watch because I always felt he could get caught. Even so I would have thought he had to much for Abraham at either weight.
nah mate. calzaghes was up there but mclellan was a totally different class to lacy . better fight and better performance IMO .
My initial prediction would be Benn. But having second thoughts i could just envision Abraham tucking up and letting Benn work and as Benn becomes tired Abraham then pouring on the pressure. Not a bad fight imo.
Benn by a country mile, and what make this worse, a lot of people 6months ago were saying Pavlik would KO AA, imagine what Benn would have done to Pavlik!!
