Morgan had a lousy jab and Wharton was very negative v Benn, most pundits said Wharton froze on the big occasion.

He should have become a counter/pressure fighter like Tyson or Duran, yoyu need head movement coming in which Benn developed a lot more at 168 a weight he was much harder to hit at in fights but his defensive skills were nowhere near Duran`s or Tyson`s, he needed an Arcel or a Rooney, there tactics trained into those two fighters would have been perfect for Benn, Barrera was a crude puncher with fast hands who improved after his two losses to Jones as did Cnelo who is now a master counter/pressure fighter.

No he never said Tibbs was 'by far' better. He said he enjoyed it most with him. He said not long ago his present coach in Australia is 'by far' better, learning him lots technically he never had a clue about.

Against Galvano he was out on his feet at the start of the last round? What?

Sorry I watched it again, I thought Benn was tired but he was just wild.

Bennie would just grind him down like a trash compactor
Sure Benn would have his moments but hes in with an immovable object.
Lets not forget also Bennie had a much better defense then Benn.

Did we really want Nigel Benn to turn into a cutie?
I was happy the way Nigel was, flaws and all.
Kill or be killed and great entertainment.

Bricoe in Benn’s day would’ve been not 160, he would’ve been 147 maybe, if he were to fight Benn at 160 he would’ve been ****ed up, way smaller than Benn and Benn was more versatile, bigger puncher, he was faster with his feet and hands, he was stronger and bigger and he could box and if he had to he could fight with Briscoe, there is a video of Benn absolutely schooling Duran in sparring, that’s how underrated his boxing skill is, he was ouslicking Duran on the inside and outside and Duran is known for being slick on the inside and Benn isn’t even using his size in the clip, he was mainly outslicking him on the inside, people are only picking Briscoe because he is American and he was from a past era from Benn

That sparring vid was just light sparring, Benn had nowhere near the skill level of Duran, Hagler would have beat the crap out of Benn compared to the trouble he had with Duran, Benn was not a skilled fighter, but could use good head movement to get off the line and counter, he had good hand speed, but Duran P4P was far better than Benn.

Duran was better than Benn p4p, he beat better fighters, but Benn was skilled, he could use the jab and box from range, just look at the Eubank 2 fight and his fight against that guy with the big chin

I largely agree with this! I think it would be a violent tough fight, and could see either guy winning this. Forced to choose I would go Briscoe late stoppage or close SD type of outcome. But Benn is a very live dog here.

Going with Benn's speed, workrate, combinations and power to beat out Briscoe. 2 great fighters and I can see it going either way but I don't see it going the distance

Yes some poster was saying Benn was bigger and stronger than Hagler but in pics of Hagler on google sometimes his biceps look huge, always noticed Benn`s legs were thin, I also met met Benn at a fight venue in London in 1989, he came to watch the main event which was for what was called the southern area title back then at light middle, I went to the foyer at some point with my mother to get an autograph, I was 12 so couldn`t really judge how big he was, but he didn`t seem very big.
