Nigel Benn ~VS~ Bernard Hopkins at 160

Benn gets him in 1 or 2 or gets stopped himself around the 9th. Hopkins is a very good fighter but he is not an all time great. He came along at a quiet time in the middleweight ranks and managed to miss out on the Benns, Eubanks, Collins and Calzaghe.

 

You think that Bernard Hopkins (prime) is faster than Nigel Benn (prime)?

 

Hopkins UD. In a very close fight.

 

I think Hopkins is much slicker and would beat benn at 160. But in no way do i think that Hopkins was faster. Its like saying Floyd Mayweather is faster than Zab Judah because he uses his speed better. It is just not the case.

Benn has the faster hands and feet. But he would loose a descsion or late TKO at 160 imo.

 

Hopkins old school technical abilities should get him thru, with the proviso a puncher like Benn is always dangerous. A rough fight for anyone, Benn. I like Hopkins by UD or late tko. I would have liked to see Benn vs Jones.

 

Hopkins v Eubanks would be a far more interesting contest. Eubanks had far more tools than Benn plus an iron chin. A motivated Eubanks might just pulp Mr Hopkins.
