Froch by TKO but I can be persuaded the other way. Froch was a big natural 168 lber whereas Nigel while a dangerous super middleweight was a positively lethal middleweight. For that reason I’ll go with Froch with his durability and solid power to win late but it’s a bombs away match up and a definite war.

I'd go for Froch by UD.

At 1st glance froch looked like **** to me...slow hands and feet ,seemingly lumbering, did nothing special looked like he had no defence.....as time went on and i saw him beat more obviously flashy or gifted fighters one after the next....by the time of the jermain taylor fight i knew.....

Froch has an iron chin, lightning reflexes that both enable him to ride punches and time foes with counters, a awkward defence, great stamina, confidence and will and underestimatedly heavy hands that put off foes from attacking him ( look at fear arthur abraham suffered)

Froch beat every style!! Every style! A slick young speedster andre dirrel, undisputed mw champ jermain taylor, arthur abraham, mikel kessler, glen johnson, jean pascal, highly rated southpaw lucian bute

He is 1 of the most underrated fighters of the last 20 years

He has a,far more impressive record at 168 than benn or for that matter calzaghe whos biggest win (hopkins) i felt he lost, jones was shot......froch beat them all...except ward. The loss to ward gets overrated and the wins over say a bute and taylor are underrated.

Even in the ward fight in the 12th round he seemed to figure things out.his legacy is basically dismissed now cos he lost that one fight.

Styles make fights and while i think froch beats calzaghe...joe does far better with ward....what froch did to ward for 1 roubd in the 12th joe would be doing all 12 on the way to a points, win over ward

    Froch beats benn late stoppage

I think Froch wins as well but lightning reflexes? You could throw five punches at Froch and hit him 10 times

Yes he knew how to ride shots...i dont think he got hit 5 out of 10 thats not accurate at all...it was frochs cobra reflexes that enabled him to beat fast guys like andre dirrel and jermain taylor...pascal could hardly touch him..

At super middleweight Benn was a bit more considered, less intense and reckless than at middle.
I don’t believe he’d go in against the iron jawed Froch hell for leather, I think he’d look to pace himself because he ain’t knocking Froch out.
I think this would be more of a boxing match than people expect and it’s not inconceivable that it goes the distance.
I tend to think though that Froch gradually wears Nigel down with his heavy handedness and stops him late, with it still being close on the scorecards.

    Likewise.

    Froch was made of iron.

    But Benn was an ironsmith.

I think Benn. Froch may have a better chin, but I'm not convinced he can give what McClellan can, and in that one and the Eubank rematch, he didn't run out of steam. I think he'd manage out-hustle Froch in enough rounds to win, and with a super strong start, he'll win a decision IMO. Froch would likely dominate late.

I have always said Benn by KO in this one because Froch ,even though he had the height and reach, always chose to trade with opponents at mid and close range and Froch always left himself open whilst doing so and Benn was somewhat better defensively and I see it being a good fight, and at some point they are trading and Benn catches Froch with a huge punch possibly a left hook and drops him and then finishes him, Benn was much better at punching with people than Froch and was the better counterpuncher
