In a matchup like this, with some things being relatively equal, I look to see who is more technically sound. That would be Tiger. I think Tiger would stop Benn, mid to late rounds.
Nightmare match up for Benn. He better hope he gets stopped in the mid-late rounds. He'd absorb a terrible terrible beating over 12 and I don't think he could possibly make it to the end of 15.
I would be interested to know your broader feelings on Benn. Also, does it bother you that you, too, would have 20,000 posts if Reggie hadn't runned you off that time?
Tiger has the chin to take Benn's shots while the same cannot be said about Benn. Tiger mid round stoppage.
I think it would be a late stoppge. Maybe even betwee 11 and 14. The thing is - Tiger doesn't hit that hard. He can punch and being stood in front of him is stoopid, but I don't think he could KO Benn with a single shot. It would be on accumilation.
As far as Benn goes. I enjoy watching his fights, very entertaining obviously. Vicious and unpredictable(especially when hurt or thought to be hurt). Switched his style up as his career progressed from a pure brawler/puncher to more of a cute stylist towards the end. While very effective and always dangerous, I don't know which of the top MW's around the era I'd have favored him directly over. Throw some names and I'll tell you how I think he'd have done. As for the second bit, don't try to drag me down with you.
I would think Tiger hit near enough as hard as Eubank maybe harder so he could end it earlier then 11. Either way I agree Tiger wins the fight via stoppage.
I liked Nigel Benn, but he would have been in way over his head against Tiger, who would have subjected him to the "Rubin Carter treatment".
I think Benn can make this interesting, he possibly and even maybe likely has his spots, but i cant envision him wiinning this one, Tiger by stoppage at some poiint.
