Don King barking "get up, get up" to McClellan makes for pleasant viewing.

Never seen this footage in full, shows the utter chaos after the fight.

All i know is, that Gerald McClellan was recovering well in a UK Hospital, until his stupid family insisted in moving him back to America or something...?

It annoys me, the way people where all for Audley Harrison getting his paycheck with held. Fair enough he froze, but he took punches off one of the hardest hitting fighters on the planet....got back up off the canvas, and was stopped on his feet. Audley Harrison was not looking for a way out, otherwise he would of stayed down.....

In a sport when, you're one punch away from serious serious injury.

How dare these people pushing paper with pens, decide on weather the fighters get paid.

Lisa claims different to what most of us here say. She says it wasn't anything to do with him losing oxygen in mid air. He should of stayed here IMO but Lisa was very stubborn and wouldn't listen to reason and demanded he went back home.

PK i totally agree on the Harrison point. My thoughts exactly. It sets a dangerous precedent when you take away a man's money after he took some hard shots and got up.

What makes great fighters different from other fighters is the way they deal with the situation. Some men freeze and i think if you freeze and are swinging away when hurt because you feel you have to...you could get really hurt. Plus the ref's may then hold back stopping fights because fear they lose the man his purse.

I agree with you Mandanda and Prima...nobody would demand low league football players have their wages withheld just because they got destroyed by a overwhelmingly better team. Unfortunately prizefighters are judged more harshly then any athletes in the world. It's just the nature of the business. What was difficult to stomach was people in the game fanning the flames.

bunce did a 10 mins on his broad cast almost a year ago about this match and said something along the lines that the mcClellans thought the NHS was **** poor and believed in the u.s. health care. a disgrace really. i don't want to get political but if they where that worried about are 'terrible' health service they should of sent u.s. doctors to the uk if they where scared that much.
lets not get it confused he was in bad shape and would of suffered problems had he stayed in the u.k.. but by going home it was greatly exacerbated.

take jermain taylor, hard knockout, was in bad shape but was secured by his management and family that he shouldn't risk a trans atlantic flight. so he stayed in germany for a while.

Not to mention that there's good evidence to suggest Gerald had had a problem long before the Benn fight.
