now heres a fight, a war and anything else you could call it. who takes the nod? ill go with my favorite ...lamotta in a barnburner that jakes wins because of his workrate and heavy body shots that slow benn down.

LaMotta would be tough enough to handle Benn's best, no matter how hard he came at him. LaMotta's skill level often gets overlooked, his jab would find Benn, he was also good at rollling away from right hands, and his body shots would take the steam out of Benn as the fight progressed...I'd take LaMotta by decision in a great fight.

Good action fight early on. but when Benn realizes LaMotta can handle his artillery. his goose is pretty much cooked. Benn doesnt have the defense boxing ability or footwork to keep out of harm's way. Nigel has the speed & power to handle plenty of Middles, but not LaMotta.

Something akin to this with Jake maybe forcing a late stoppage. I try to not post too much in fantasy fights with Benn at middleweight, cos I loved him to bits when he was active despite the general (and perhaps regrettably accurate) consensus that most of the elite middleweights would be a bit too much for his early day hell's bollocks approach.
Great fight though with Nigel earning Jake's respect afterwards.

I'd favour a repeat of the LaMotta-Satterfield fight.

  8. nigel benn had good headmovement he wasnt as stationary as the comments above suggest , he would have been ONE of the hardest punchers lammotta fought , he could take the power though , whereas benns chin wasnt the greatest i think it would be a slugging match till the end split decision , you have to remember benn was fit enough to go the full 12 rounds he was SUPER fit he used to train extremly hard

I believe both Benn and McClellan are 2 of the most overrated on these boards.I like Jake by mid to late ko in this one.

the middle version of benn is in for a painful loss most times in this match-up as he may well be spent after the first 6 rounds .
