I'm a Eubank fan and even I have to admit that Toney has the better chin (not by that much).

Having said that, wasn't Toney knocked down HEAVILY by Reggie Johnson?

Yeah, I was mistaken, I just saw it on youtube. He was definitely hurt but it wasn't a heavy KD.

 damn good fighter trained very hard and used relentless pressure to get his win.also marvin haglers half brother i think(not llike that makes him an atg but a little factoid for yall). hit very hard in repetative shots eubank i remember won the first 7 rounds with his jab and awkwardness then when he tires(which he does) he started to coax and run . just jabbing and moving...i remember him throwing a jab to the body in which he (i feel)delibratly fell over so to get some resting time which was ok it wasnt rude or below board.

but anyways toney - benn both 5'10 both can box and punch but the difference is the stylistic differences.

toney is a class counterpuncher and when somone tried to out muscle him he would comeback with alot of combo's and stop them from popping away.

benn a hard hitting durable proud brother, had underated jab and defence but when taking a shot he would go down make no mistake about that.but he never gave up with out a reason and was always in the fight.

my belif is that benn as dangerous as he is isnt going to ko toney and if he does try to out box james then toney would then come to get some.anyone who tries to beat him though amount of punches gave him alot of oppertunities to counter look at toney vs barkley or holyfield or jirov once they come fore ward he has you and there is no other way benn can fight but come foreward he had a jab but toney will use that as a gauge to throw a sneaky right hand.

    toney ko

but really this is a fight which benn couldnt win but he could beat a hell of alot of fighters

Worst possible matchup for Benn. JT by ko unless he's weight weakened.

Toney stood up to Sam Peter's bombs, only going down off balance from a jab in 24 rounds, I personally think Toney has proven to have one of the strongest chins p4p ever

Even if I think that Toney was the better fighter, my gut feeling would say that Benn would win by decision.

Apparently I have....and you can't hide behind those BS notions anymore. Everyone in this thread who was American has heard of Eubank. He doesn't have the greatest chin P4P of all time. There are too many fighters who have NEVER been down who could claim that....even at HW.

Yes, Eubank was in against some big punchers. Big punchers at 160 and 168. However, we have never seen his chin tested against the biggest puncher in the heavyweight division, whereas we have with Toney.

Toney's chin is unparalleled in the modern era, and it has been proven so on many occassions.

Stylistically, this is a nightmarish bout for Benn as well. His style is predicated on power shots, and few pugilists have shown a better ability to take a punch like Toney has, and few have shown the ability to counter punch as effectively as Toney has. The more pressure you apply to Toney with power shots, the more you eat in return.

This is either a close but clear UD for James, due to Benn's workrate, or a late stoppage for Toney.

While I don't agree with mister hugh, he's presented his argument politely, and some people resort to namecalling because they think he's wrong but cannot counter him in a normal way. I find this very amusing.

As for the topic, Toney TKO's Benn late in the fight, I'd venture.
