Come on now fella Hopkins boxes the ears off of Benn, out points Eubank in a clash of styles match, and does the same with Watson.
It's just my opinion and you don't have to share it, but I think both Eubank and Benn were outstanding. Hopkins is great, but...not outstanding imo.
I think all the clashes between the UK & US MW's & SMW's of the early/mid 90's would have been intriguing affairs. Benn vs Jones Eubank vs Toney Graham vs McCallum - actually happened Watson vs ?? Collins vs ?? and so on Reasons could be given for either fighter emerging victorious, though it must be said that the British fighters would start as live dogs in each case.
Nigel Benn would KO him early in my opinion. Every one on here seems to agree that Pavlik has 'accumulative' power, if that's the case then Benn's speed and one punch KO power would take it in my opinion. This is because he was willing to take 4 or 5 to land one big bomb, and if Pavliks power is accumulative then Benn could handle the 4 or 5 he would have to take
benn would completely blow him away. kelly has a long way to go before he can even be talked about in the same breath. different class at the moment. same opinion for eubank. anyone who thinks otherwise clearly has never seen either fight or is delusional. no disrespect to pavlic but at this moment in time we shouldnt be even having this discusion.
Pavlik would probably try to make Benn fight on the back foot, back him up. Trouble is, if Benn is backed up to the ropes I can see him coming out of a crouch and nailing KP with lefts and right hooks. Benn to force a stoppage mid rounds after some hairy moments on the way.
Benn has allot more power than Taylor and if he had him in trouble like JT did the fight would be all over. Only skilled defensive fighters/ counter punchers do well against Benn.
Well Kelly Pavlik is like G - Man.. Tall big reach, powerfull...and with a big right hand. Nigel Benn bullied G-man as the fight matured, Kelly Pavlik has shown that he can be out brawled with fast powerfull combinations. Jermaine Taylor in his two fights with Kelly Pavlik has shown this. When Jermaine Taylor would throw combinations, Kelly Pavlik would never trade inside with him. Kelly Pavliks fights from a measured distance, it's when you step off him and try to use your jab..thats when he goes to work technically. I don't think Kelly Pavlik will be able to get away from Nigel Benn, remember Benn was fast on his feet like a sprinter. Jermaine Taylor i still say is a better fighter than Kelly Pavlik, but Jermaine Taylor just did not have the workrate to put a sustained beating on Kelly Pavlik. So that was why he was beaten, from a distance with slow machine like work from Kelly Pavlik. Nigel Benn was powerfull, fast and ruthless...and had a great workrate. He wins and beats Kelly Pavlik by TKO 8 ROUNDS...! Nigel Benn win..!
if benn hit him with one shot it would be good night vienna, never mind the 14 or 15 punchs taylor hit him with, benn in 2 or 3,easy
you cant achive **** with potential, you need the whole package. otherwise, amir khan is lightweight champ of the world 6 months ago right?
Pavlik is no defensive master. I say he has Benn in all sorts of trouble early, but being in trouble was what made Benn so dangerous. I say Pavlik has him on the ropes in the 4th of what has already been a competitive brawl with Benn staggered on more than one occasion. As Pavlik goes for the kill, Benn does what he does best.....Pavlik gets to his feet, but is in no state to continue. In terms of record, Benn's career was decent. But H2H it's hard to pick many from history against him 100%. Puncher's chance was a term created for guys just like Benn.
Benn would knock Pavlik the **** out brutally, and early. Stylistically this favors Benn and he would get to Pavlik first and hurt him. Much more speed, and hits a lot harder.
