don't see how its stupid considering the outcome. whats more important going out on your sheild or being able to see? he knew something was wrong ,as did his corner, so he could have given himself a chance.
Benn is my all time best british fighter he was a pure animal king of the tear ups. Real bad about McClellan fight if only fight was stoped early could have have been a different story. Theres a great vid on you tube of Benn sparing with Duran if you havent seen it check it out
Its stupid for a number of reasons. - Its the corners job and the refs job to protect a fighter from serious injury - It assumes that he knew he was having serious long term damage done to him, when obviously he would have just thought he was struggling from the big knocks and like any self respecting fighter in a competitive fight, he showed as much heart as he could muster and continued on - It is like asking someone on ***** street to think clearly and logically - He is a fighter - thats what he does - fight - any number of punches could cause irrepairable long term damage but it is the type of thing that you never expect to happen to you - its plain disrespectfull implying that it could be his fault
Benn maybe the only one who in terms of punching power is comparable to AA (but Benn's body movement was a class above - he really was excellent). I really do like the guy. But I also like Eubank. Benn and Eubank were both great fighters and I am convinced that Eubank in his prime would've beaten Joe...
benn is my all time favourite fighter...never ducked anyone, wil lose or draw he came to fight..sad how he left the sport, but his fire went out after that performance against mclelland....if that fight hadnt had such tragic consequences it would be lauded as up there with the thrilla in manilla and the arguello pryor wars.....the single most brutal fight i have ever witnessed..regardless of the personalituies involved, both fighters proved they were FIGHTERS above all....heart, courage, skill, power....that fight has it all..it is a montage about everything that is bad, and beautiful about this sport we love and hate......
