That just tells you how good they know he is. If two boxers are saying they would have lost, then there's a great chance they would have lost.
I know what you mean, but in my opinion it's not safe to say that Roy would've beaten them. Anyways, all 3 were great boxers and I hope Roy still is...we will see what he is able to do against Calz.
this is not a stick your head up jones jr's arse section. there are plenty of other threads for that. this is a tribute to nigel benn.
I can't watch the Benn McClellan fight. The French ref was unbelievable...pushing Gerald away to give Nigel more time to recover in the first round.Even the British commentator Jim Watts was onto his case for that. Also you could see that McClellan was in distress even before he quit.He went down on one knee, but the referee told him to continue. He should have at least let the doctor have a look at him. It's the corner's fault as well I guess. That was a great fight though and Nigel Benn was an awesome fighter.I wonder how much better he could have been,if he had hooked up with an American trainer earlier in his career.
Benn was my favourite fighter growing up and is still one of my all time favourites. Anyone trying to discredit his career is an idiot who knows nothing about the sport or is too blinkered to bother learning about past fighters. However, in my opinion he would have been totally dominated and stopped by prime RJJ. That aside, the video is great, so thanks for posting it.
If Benn had not fought McClellan then no doubt people on here would be stating assuredly he would "never" have beaten him.
he was addicted to women. and this caused alot of stress on his family becuase he knew it would break them up if he did. so in a mental melt down he downed a half cap of sleeping pills put away with some cheap white wine and tied a hosepipe to the exhaust of his car. sitting in his car crying his eyes out he passed out. luckily the hosepipe fell out and he didnt suffer from monoxide poisoning. he woke up later at pulled himself together, i think in an interview he said that when he collapsed he only remembers the sterotypical "light at the end of the tunnel" to which he ran away from and caused him to have a spiritual purity moment. still a tender subject good for him tho, he has really built his life and has a decent following in majorca
yeah if your single rich and a world champion. he was a family man who had a couple of kids and a wife that he loved. but becuase of his "habit" he was cheating on his wife and thus his kids almost once a week. his wife foudn out and it started to look like another divorce case that he had already gone thru we are talking REAL bad habit. this isnt typical horniness "i want sex", it's a i need sex craving for it. it was clear if he didnt have this moment of clarity he would of fallen apart.
Benn got his ass kicked beyond all recognition by members of his gang as a child - no wonder he was an absolute killer inside the ring...
