    Chantler was 23-19 when they met and had been stopped numerous times. His overall record ended up 27-34-1 with 15 stoppage losses. He was a reasonable enough choice as an opponent at this stage of Benn's journey but the fight is noteworthy for it's brevity more than anything.

    Benn fought a high number of cans before fighting Watson (and quite a few later too).

    Yeah, a very useful fighter was Chantler.

    Remember BN reporting he'd been robbed in France, and he looked good against Watson and Boy George. Very good amateur too, NABC champion!
