ok chin but with good recovery, this wasn't the worst way for benn to be, kd's are bad but going down saved him from a few ko's imo
A below average chin. But he was cuter defensively than many give him credit for, particularly at 168lbs. Also, because he started swinging when stung, it often made fighters step back and give time for Benn to recover. He was lucky sometimes too. For example, getting hurt by Galvano, right at the death of the rematch, saved a potentially embarrassing situation.
I mean I just watched the watson fight last night and like Tbooze said once he got hurt he started swinging for the fences which I think helped him a lot in his career but he turned away from watson at one point in the fight completely and then was knocked down and out by a punch that didnt seem that serious. Then I see him get knocked out of the ring against McClellan and he gets back in there to do battle. Its a big question mark for me.
Not sure he had a great chin, but his ability to get back to his feet and come back strong was always compelling. Some fighters, they get hurt, and put down, and then you know that it's more than likely they're on their way. You never could consider Nigel Benn out of it - even on his arse.
