http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=395153&cat=boxer http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/boxing/9588712.Southampton_was_destiny_for_King_Davidson/ Not a bad addition to the UK scene. Fighting for the WBO International trinket (the same one Haye and Chisora are fighting for) on June 30 in London, but no news on promoter/venue. Anyone know anything more? :think
He's a handy fighter who found it hard to get fights in Australia. He'll be a welcome addition to your local scene there.
Think it said in the Echo he was now living in Northam with family. Don't think it mentioned which gym he's at. Although he did have a fight recently in either Southampton or Pompey which I think was a Bishop card.
I've only seen his fight with Charlie Ota, where he lost a wide decision (no way was it a SD, with the Australian judge some how scoring it for Davidson...). However, he did have Ota down and virtually out in the first round. If the round had lasted another 20 or so extra seconds, I believe Davidson would have scored the stoppage victory. After that, he just seemed to fight tamely and struggled to deal with Ota's bursts of attack. It was a disappointing performance from Davidson really, but Ota is a solid fighter on the fringes of world class; no disgrace in losing to him.
Yeah, and Matty Tew. I think Tony Hill will have to move up. It must take a lot out of him making middleweight.
