Lets say you're a boxer. On a scale to one to ten, you're about a 6, 6.5 in everything. Solid puncher, you avoid getting hit, you hit more often than you are hit, solid fundamentals... Now, throughout the divisions, what are the boxers that you still absolutely dread facing? That you have not a chance in hell against, and why? At LHW, I'd absolutely dread getting in there with Foster. Super Middleweight, Roy Jones. Hagler or Dick Tiger at MW. What would I accomplish against either? Hearns through any number of divisions. Thoughts?
Any great fighter who's particularly brutal. Fenech, Duran, Foreman, Liston, Gomez, thousands. Tyson would be as bad as most, he's smashing any average Joe blow, and damn fast
Yeah that's the other part of the equation. It would be frightening tho, look at guys like Tubbs and Williams dogging out as soon as they could. They were never going to be there for the woodchop.
If ever anybody was a nightmare for their division, and a horror movie to boot, it would be Bob Foster when he starred in the "Attack of the Killer Lightheavyweight Praying Mantis" back in the early seventies.
I wont fear Tyson that much. As long as it last less than a round I pretty good. I pretty sure most of the top punchers assuming I a level 6 boxer in eveything, could blow me out in a round or 2. The boxers would be the ones I dislike though. Ali mostly. Or Jack Johnson.
I'd hate to fight guys who will either 1. Blow you out quick and embarrass you - Tyson 2. Guys who won't knock you out but just toy with you - Roy Jones. The most dangerous guys to fight are actually the ones who will beat you up but don't actually finish you. That said, psychologically those aren't all that bad to fight because you feel that you are in the fight and being somewhat competitive and have a chance, and get the opportunity to show your stuff.
