You used to tell everyone that Tim was no good. Now you're complaining about Nikita. Tim got dropped a couple of times by light punchers in the first round of fights when on the way up so Nikita is in good company. One of those was Wade Ryan who beat down a recent Russian Junior Middleweight champ in his last start. Only difference with Nikita is that he wasn't facing a light puncher. It's a different heat down here.
Geez, even the Kiwis are in here telling us Nikita won't make it. What can I say in response to that? Shame about the Olympics, bro.
Yeah shame he never went to them, or the comm games, or had more than 4 amateur fights, gained some experence that would see him be more than a floppy haired crude brawler riding off the coattails of his family. Cant wait for his 12th pro knockdown next fight
He was on the national amateur team & got overseas trips - unlike Timmy. You can't rely on Boxrec for amateur records.
He made national teams & won national titles as a junior, bro. You've answered your own aspersions as to why he didn't make Comm Games or Olympics teams. He was only very young. He's clearly a superior talent than many who have made those teams. Blind Freddy can see that.
So he quit as an amateur between 15 and 23, was on the national team as a 10 yr old? Then did some entertaining pro fights against domestic level opponents and now what? What am I supposed to feel? ''Going to make it'' Make what exactly?
I haven't said he's going to make it - that's not a quote attributable to me. I think he's got plenty of talent, is going well & has the potential to climb higher. How much higher remains to be seen. I've got a question mark over his chin (as I do about many of our fighters) but he's only ever been down once and didn't look badly hurt on that occasion. I've seen him hurt worse in previous fights where he didn't go down.
I'd like to see Nikita in with the Kiwi Tszyu - Andrei Mikhailovich. Nikita's specialty is knocking out unbeaten guys. I think he knocks the Russian-Kiwi senseless.
People are overhyping them. Nikita is at the beginning of his career fighting bums and topic starter already calling him "very very great fighter". Tim is more proven, but is in the one of weakest divisions in boxing, thats why I think he can become undisputed. I am just realist and dont have fanboyism.
