Huge guys that were better than Carnera?

53-2-1 vs 89-14 suggests that he was. Carnera's best win is probably Loughran. Valuev has a bunch of guys as scalps that are arguably better.

Is he really? Maybe you are thinking end-career Valuev who was as slow as a sloth. May I suggest you look again

Seems about the same to me. The difference is that Valuev has a higher workrate, fires punches in combination and goes to the head and body in turn. He's also harder to land cleanly on whereas Carnera is there to be hit. And, oh yeah, he has about 50lb on Carnera. Valuev's punches are more accurate and thrown with intent.

Carnera's ankle gave out against Baer. That's the primary reason for his poor performance.

Walcott used his feet better than Haye did.

Carnera was the worst heavyweight champ in history.

Haye was not a good boxer Walcott wa far more skilled, Louis would have boxed Haye`s ears off.

    Better than Valuev.
Comparing raw records is completely pointless, Carnera faced much better competition.
His best win is Sharkey 2nd fight. He also has Loughran and Uzcudun. Sharkey and Loughran are absolutely better than anything Valuev ever accomplished.
I look at what you posted and I feel exactly the same as before.
Valuev absolutely doesn't have higher workrate than Carnera, I don't know what you are looking at. Carnera also used combos by the way, try watching better.

50 lbs? Carnera weighed around 270 lbs at his best. I don't see this as a good thing by the way.

I agree that Valuev probably hit harder, but he rarely could hit someone cleanly because he was so slow.

Did he really? There's only one guy I'd say is clearly better than Valuav's competition and that's Louis. And Carnera lost to Louis.
Loughran, the guy with 25 losses, some to nobodies? Yeah, Imma take Holyfield over him.
Uzcudun, the guy with 17 losses, some to nobodies? Yeah Imma take Ruiz over him.

I also like McCline, Barrett, Donald and Liakhovich over a lot of the guys that are supposed good wins for Carnera.
    Clearly I can't help you.
Did you even take note of how many punches were thrown by either. You're thinking of end-of-the-road Valuev whereas I feel a prime version is fairer to consider.
    Valuev: 320lbs
    I guess I must have dreamed Valuev's KO % of 65%.

Here's some clips of Valuev hitting guys cleanly

He never KOd anybody close to the class of Carnera.

You might also want to factor in that nobody ever KOd Carnera.

    Not even arguably.

His resume puts him closer to the middle of the pack.

Valuev wasn't nearly as powerful as Baer.

Holyfield was 46 years old, had been stopped by obese Middleweight James Toney 5 years previously, and was coming off a loss.

His resume puts him to the back end of the line. That's just my opinion. There's Noone standing out for me that long shanks beat that looks impressive.
Even the win over Sharkey looks fishy.
